ID Released For Man Who Jumped To His Death From Sikorsky Bridge

Connecticut State Police have identified the man who jumped to his death from the Sikorsky Memorial Bridge on Thursday.

The victim was identified as Stephen P. Regan, 62, of Merrimack, New Hampshire, state police said.

Regan jumped off the Sikorsky Bridge around 2 p.m., Thursday, April 4, and his body was retrieved by state police and officials with the Stratford Fire Department.

He could not be revived after being found, the state police said.

Regan's vehicle was found atop the bridge from where he jumped, state police added.

The bridge carries vehicles on the Merritt Parkway over the Housatonic River between Stratford and Milford.

His death is being investigated as a suicide, authorities said.
